Bio

Bill Worrell first gained recognition as the lead guitarist for the iconic rock band America.

Immersed in the world of live music from an early age, Bill toured with Pat Benatar as a child while his father mixed sound. Inspired by Pat and her husband, guitarist Neil Giraldo, Bill honed his craft, performing in rock bands across the country, earning multiple jazz guitar awards in high school, and ultimately obtaining a bachelor's degree in classical guitar performance.

After college, he joined America—first as a guitar tech, then stepping in as lead guitarist, replacing Michael “Woodz” Woods. This launched him into world tours alongside rock legends such as Chicago, The Beach Boys, and Christopher Cross.

Beyond the stage, Worrell has contributed as a session musician for artists including Christian Love of The Beach Boys, Gerry Beckley of America, and Brian Carr of Family Guy. In 2021, Chicago guitarist Keith Howland invited him to serve as a sub-lead guitarist for the legendary band.

Bill’s live show fuses the bluesy depth of Joe Bonamassa with the technical mastery of Joe Satriani, delivering a powerhouse performance. His band features a rotating cast of members of America, Chicago, Phil Vassar, and other top-tier musicians.
